The only daughter of the Tosu family and a first-year college student, Reika starts her adult life living with her first boyfriend, Nobuto Matori. She undergoes DV while living with this nasty man that also happens to be a part of the syndicate, with the hopes that maybe she can change him for the better. Unbeknownst to her, she is the heir to a large inheritance from her mother's side of the family(which also happens to be a cult, surprise!), and is being targeted by Nobuto and others.
She poorly attempts to hide the assault from her parents, but to no avail. Which then sets off a chain of reactions once her father murders her now "ex-boyfriend" , throwing their entire family into the unforgiving world of the syndicate.
This is a character that really grows on you throughout the manga series. Her journey and growth is truly inspiring, for example she takes up self defense and then goes on to become a cop after college with the goal of taking down the syndicate, and the one responsible for several murders which may very well be her own father... Crossing our fingers for another season, but definitely check out the manga online!
